WooWee..Looks like I jumped in a hornets nest..excuse me but i must play my dumb-ole girl card again...Gulp.. i'm still in the game. my best bet is that this mormon friend is probably as un educated about his mormanism as i am about my Christianity... We are (sorry about the caps) TWO OLD BURNED OUT HIPPIES FROM THE 60'S WHO HAPPENED TO DISCUSS RELIGEON AbOUT 10 YEARS AGO AND HAve been friends every since,, I dont attent church regularly , but about 4 years ago i got charged up and attended quite regularly.. I even got my friend coming with me.. That Pastor there at a baptist church even helped my friend pick out a bible,, my friend still has and refers to it as "HIS" bible... Funny thing.. a couple days ago, I just asked him if he took that bible to his mormon church with him and he said No, it wasnt necessary.. I shook it off, saying, "yeah I know they flip through pages so fastm i cant keep up with them either.. I didnt know they Use a different book other than the king james ..but I believe this question of exactly what book he is learning from (while at service) is right where i will begin...My friend said " I have a king James Bible and You have a king James Bible" Dont worry about me"... When my friend was attendind with me at the baptist service, My friend took to the baptist service like "the good old duck to water".. he says he was raised in the mormon religeon but ,, I think it might be just a matter of name to him and he doesnt even know what he is being taught.. I'm sure i will be back for more help..ill try to understand and with the Lord's guidance, (if meant to be) We'll get him back over in the right pews, in Jesus name...Help us Lord ....C... P.S. no chance of me getting swayed to mormanisn...I am happy where I am.. Personally i have been blessed with a HUGE !! assignment, and i have been floating on air, especially realizing day by day this job the Lord has trusted me with has been in the making for a very long time.. my personal blessing has to do with the Lord GIVING me cancer and How Happy I am about it.. it's a mighthy thing I am experiencing..through this blessing i have been lead back to my friend (we were at outs for over a year) I feel the lord wants this.. I feel it God wants me to help heard him back into the flock,, it all part of the plan...THE END IS NEAR... Oh The Lord is Mighty and How I LOVE HIM SO..C | ||||||

Morning Legs, You said, "...my personal blessing has to do with the Lord GIVING me cancer..." Please learn to rephrase this, perhaps, the Lord allowed you to get cancer...God is not in the habit of killing His kids. There are only 3 instances that I can think of right off the top of my head where God actually "gave" or "put" a disease on anyone: When Moses was trying to not go before the Pharaoh (the whole hand that turned leprous), when Miriam spoke against Moses (she was told why she got leprous and was quickly healed), and the insanity of Nebuchadnezzar (and he was told and also healed). A fourth possible time (but I'm not sure) might be the sickness of Hezekiah. But I am sure that our God is not in the business of putting dreadful diseases on His own. We live in a world corrupted by sin and though we may not be of this world we are still subject to the corruption that is in it, we get sick. When we do get sick God can use that to His glory, but I will never be convinced that He was the author of that sickness on someone....Sorry. |

Ariel Levin not picking on you but you forget the Deut 7:13-15 where God said through Moses, "Deuteronomy 7:13-15 (NKJV) 13 And He will love you and bless you and multiply you; He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your land, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flock, in the land of which He swore to your fathers to give you. 14 You shall be blessed above all peoples; there shall not be a male or female barren among you or among your livestock. 15 And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you. " That was if they kept the covenant I think it is safe to assume what the inverse would be true if they didn't keep the covenant. I otherwords God would make them sick and etc. |

I sse your point Ed, and you're right He did say that. I tend to think though it's more a matter of withdrawing the supernatural protection from what's already in the world than Him actually singling out people to make sick. If we take that stance, that God puts cancer, etc. on people who do not keep His commandments then we should be seeing just kazillions dropping dead daily. And if you want to keep it isolated to only the Jews, then why are they not dying out? (It's lnot like He doesn't have any help here. Whole countries would love to see them gone!) The reports are that there are more secular Jews in Israel than observant Jews. And probably more secular Jews in the States than observant Jews. Why are the secular still around? Unless it's just the "protection" that has been withdrawn and they are now subject to the world's woes? |

Okay Let us then look at Exodus 4:11 (NASB) 11 The LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? |

This will be my last entry in this thread. sa 103:1 A Psalm of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Psa 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Psa 103:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Psa 103:4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Psa 103:5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. Psa 103:6 The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. Psa 103:7 He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. Psa 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. Psa 103:9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. Psa 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. Psa 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. Psa 103:13 Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. |
