Hi Matt, I understand what you are saying Matt. I too agree that a thorough understanding of our blessed Holy Bible is the best defense and offense. I have been a christian many years and seek to witness to others as well as make a defense of the Holy bible passages when known "cults" use the passages in a way that dishonors our blessed Lord. Many bible students have worked and put in long hours in disecting beliefs of these known "cults". Their hours of hard work has helped those of us with limited time and experience to understand where it is that they err. Having this knowledge in my hand serves to give me a bottom line of what these "cults" believe rather than me having to study for hours to try to understand their thinking. Therefore with this resource readily available it is another armor in the true believer's battle against the enemy who wants to distort, change, add to, the truth of who God the father, Christ Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit is and has done. I am well equipped now to share with those who come to my door the gospel of Jesus Christ who purchased with His own blood my eternal redemption. In fact I had a couple of ladies come to my door a couple of times. I was mostly annoyed by them but felt impressed to share the gospel with them. I expressed my concern to the Lord that if He wanted me to speak with them I would the next time they appeared at my door. They did appear again a third time. This time with a brief prayer for wisdom, memorized scripture and a gracious approach I was allowed to share the gospel with them. They did not come back to my door again. However, I shared what I had studied, believed and was able to boldly proclaim the death, burial and resurrection of Christ Jesus my Lord. I knew what they believed about Christ because of the resources I named in a previous post. I believe a genuine daily study of the Holy bible is essential in this spiritual warfare. We live in an age that knowledge via the internet is abundant. I believe I would be amiss if I did not utilize all the resources the Spirit leads me to using discernment and the plumb line of the Holy Bible. I have studied Paul. He was probably the most intelligent apostle of all. If you look at some of his speaches you will actually see he knew quite a bit about the opponents of the gospel. He actually quoted one of their own poets. He knew about the Pharisees and Sadduces beliefs about resurrection and used them to his advantage when he was in a pickle. There will probably never be anyone as gifted as our beloved Paul. Heb 1:7 And of the angels He says, "WHO MAKES HIS ANGELS WINDS, AND HIS MINISTERS A FLAME OF FIRE." Heb 1:8 But of the Son He says, "YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER, AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM. Heb 1:9 "YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU WITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS." Keep the faith - Val |

Val: A couple of questions If you know all of the answers, to all of the questions, a J.W., or L.D.S. could ask, then why can't you give a valid argument, for the position you hold? At this point everything you have said, is not scriptural, it's all belief, assumption, speculation, it may sound good, (right), but the wisdom of the world is foolishness with GOD. Isn't the point of us corresponding like this to get to the truth of scripture? I have given examples, where it clearly states, we are to beware of false teachers, and Prophets. You are saying we should not beware. Why? Based on what truth? "Look", the simplest way I can put it for you to fully see,(understand). Would you go to a J.W. Church? Would you go to a Mormon Temple? I believe your answer would be a resounding NO! Then going to a special site to learn what they believe, regardless of your motivation, is still seeking out these Damnable Heresies. Is it possible for you to be deceived, Eve was? At that point, you don't have to wait for them to come to your door, you are planting the seeds of doubt in your own heart. Couldn't the time spent, seeking the knowledge of the doctrines of men, be better spent, in seeking the knowledge of the TRUTH of God. Learning that in the hour of your need, the Holy Spirit will give you what you should speak. Be Blessed Matt. |

My dear Matt: No one has even implied, at all, that they are, or anyone else should, seek "Damnable Heresies" this is a "belief", "assumption", and "speculation" on your part my friend. What they are so wisely saying, is we should seek sound, Scriptural, Biblical counsel, to refute these very, "Damnable Heresies" that you, believe, speculate, and assume they are seeking. Your argument has no merit, Matt. Please give it a rest my friend. |

Hi John, I guess your right. There are none so blind, as those that will not see. 2 Tim 3:16,17 16) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17) That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Tim. 4:3,4 3) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Tim. 3:7 7) Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Matt. 15:14 14) Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Be Blessed Matt: |
