Prayon Let me say one more thing and I'm really not picking you but this idea that the actions of the church keep people out of relationship with God. If someone is in right relationship with God I guarantee you nothing the church or anything the world does will effect it. Why because when we are in right relationship with God we clearly understand we live in a fallen world and in a fallen world people/church still commit sin. It in no way effects our love and relationship with God. We have allowed the excuse "I was hurt in the last church I attended and I don't ever want that again so I just don't attend." for too long. What people that use that excuse are really saying is they don't believe the Bible where it says 'forsake not the assembling together', or they are too lazy to get out of bed, or they think they can 'excuse' their way into heaven and Jesus isn't the only way. Sure people get hurt, and that is a shame but to use it as excuse to justify being out of relationship with God is without support. Again they need to be told point blank your in sin and unless you repent, forgive and get back in relationship with God your going to spend eternity in hell. Whether they like it or not the ball is in their court. I wish and pray that not another person ever gets hurt in church. But I pray even harder that those that are using that as an excuse for not attending church will see it for the lie it is. Again Prayon forgive me for using your post to express this but we keep seeing this repeated on the forum. People trying to shift the blame onto the church and not the individual. Individuals are going to stand before the Lord and pointing fingers will not be an option. Each individual has the responsibility for accepting or rejecting their salvation provided for them though Christ Jesus. EdB |

Greetings Ed, np using my post - I don't mind. Your statement "Sure people get hurt, and that is a shame but to use it as excuse to justify being out of relationship with God is without support" I don't agree with you 100 percent - 90 percent yes but not 100 percent. I know of someone who loved church - who was raised in the church and loved God. They went to a church and got extremely hurt and offended by the pastor. This pastor (a male) who claimed to be so righteous but yet made a pass at the person I know who is also a male. He felt so violated by this pastor that he did not trust any pastor anymore - which is a shame. It has taken years for this person to go back to church but the whole time he kept up his relationship with God by prayer, Christian music and occationally a bible study that was not a church along with associating with other Christians. It is a horrible fact but there are a few rotten pastors heading churches that are giving most pastors a very bad image. Agape, prayon |

prayon - When a church, pastor or anyone offends, it is tough to rebound ... even if the offender asks for forgiveness. Either one needs to focus on the Lord ... easier said than done. | ||||||
