1 | What do you think? | Luke 6:42 | prayon | 144864
Greetings, What you say is very sad. Too many of God's churches judge others which is exactly what Jesus told us not to do. Many do it because of what their appearance looks like, some for other reasons. It sounds as if this is what happened at this church. For whatever reason the church judged this man and found him unworthy of going to their church. The reason he is welcome in another church is because the newer church is not judging him. We are told to hate the sin but love the sinner. Because many churches don't too many people are "run out of church" and never return because of the past experience, thus keeping them out of church and away from a relationship with God. Hope this helps. prayon |

2 | What do you think? | Luke 6:42 | Hank | 144877
prayon ::: From the facts presented in this case, nothing indicates that the church judged the young man unworthy to attend its services. On the contrary, the preacher invited the young man to continue. The action of the church involved its decision not to continue to rent its property to a couple who were living together out of wedlock. Condemning sin and judging another are not synonymous terms. --Hank
3 | What do you think? | Luke 6:42 | prayon | 144886
Hi Hank - In reading the scenario I think the church was in the wrong. First, it says the "church had a vote and decided that they had to move". Why did it take the church to vote? The preacher should of dealt with the situation. He knew about the situation, Shouldn't he of gone to see both of them on his own without the church forcing him (and to me that seems like what happened) and at least tried to council them instead of saying that their "sin was the number one sin greater even than murder." Where does the bible even say this? Second - "The church did not pray for this couple" - why not? That should of been one of the first things they did - before even contacting him. Third - "no one from the church came to invite the young lady to church". Why not? Possibly because they felt she was not worth it? The preacher did ask the young man to come back to church "but he no longer feels welcome". Why not? Something must of made him feel that way. I just thank God that he didn't do like some would and leave the church but instead found a church that he felt comfortable in. I am not saying that the couple were right - they weren't. Pure and simple they were living in sin. prayon By the way would you please call the rain back over to your side of the country? It is getting ridiculous over here..... |

4 | What do you think? | Luke 6:42 | Hank | 144915
prayon ::: The rain is headed this way right now -- glad to help! You bring up some good points and questions about this unfortunate situation, and one must also ask why this particular church is in the house rental business and why did they rent the house to an unmarried couple in the first place? It seems there are a number of odd circumstances involved here. So I will bow out for lack of all the facts in the case. And hindsight tells me it was unwise of me to get in this thing. Being nearly 70 doesn't automatically make one wise :-) Blessings and warm wishes, Hank.

Greetings, I would appreciate it if you would speed up the process of taking the rain. Peopel drive in rain here like southeners drive in the snow - without the common sence God gave them! Last storm they tell me that there were over 300 wrecks! And by the way - since you agreed to take the rain would you mind taking the twisters too? ;o) prayon
