1 | With WHOM is God pleased? | Luke 2:14 | Mommapbs | 106566
Another question on this verse! Re: "with whom He is pleased." What is the object of God's pleasure in this verse? As far as I can see there are two possibilities. Is it His "peace?" (meaning Jesus - "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased." Luke 3:22) Or is it mankind? Could it be both? |

2 | With WHOM is God pleased? | Luke 2:14 | JCrichton | 106570
Hi, Mommapbs! I believe that there is only one answer: Jesus! There have been some in our history (people of Israel and Christians) who have pleased God (beginning with Abel). But none have given up more or been more obedient than Jesus (Philippians 2:6-11). Jesus placed Himself just bellow the angels to rescue us and bring us back to the Father! God Bless! |

3 | With WHOM is God pleased? | Luke 2:14 | Mommapbs | 106573
Greetings JChricton! Yes, I agree! Until now, this was a verse that I had just glossed over at Christmas. I hadn't really considered the implications of this verse; I hadn't focused on Jesus as the object of His pleasure! Keeping this in mind when we hear the familiar line at Christmas, "Peace on earth, good will toward men", we might have an excellent opportunity to present a "Way" in a manger too! Blessings, mommapbs |
