2 | Did any prophet come from Galilee? | Luke 24:19 | Hank | 65372
Hello, prayon. Yes. That would be our Lord Jesus, who came from Nazareth, a town in lower Galilee, and who was called a Prophet in Luke 24:19 and in Acts 3:22,23. --Hank

Greetings Hank, I know about Jesus but was there anyone else? This is an "extra credit". Thanks, prayon
4 | Anyone else? | Luke 24:19 | Hank | 65502
Prayon, offhand the only other that comes to mind is the fellow who ate locusts and wild honey and was a Baptist. John, by name. Does this fetch "extra credit"? --Hank
5 | Anyone else? | Luke 24:19 | Emmaus | 65556
Hank, John the Baptist may be a stretch. Have you forgotten that Mary went into the hill country of Judah where Elizabeth was in her sixth month of pregnancy with John. Mary stayed ther about three months, the time John would have been born in Judah, where he also preached. Luke 1:36, 39, 56. Matt 3:1, Mark 1:4-5. Luke 3:1-3 says Herod was Tetrarch of Galilee and John preached in the whole valley of the Jordan, so he might have strayed into Herod's territory and thus fallen into his hands. But exactly how that happened is not clear. But Prayon may gve you extra credit marking on a curve, since it is very likely John died in Galilee since Mark 6 indicates Herod was entertaining the leading men of Galilee when John was beheaded, although exactly where the party took place is not specified. Hello, friend Emmaus. Thanks for the information and background on my Baptist brother John! I confess that I jotted off my answer in haste and should be slapped on the wrist for not engaging in research before posting, a bad practice admittedly, but my excuse (lame though it is) is that I was rather pressed for time when I posted it. But I do appreciate your appeal to Prayon on my behalf to grade on the curve whereby I possibly may receive, if not extra credit, at least not another debit to add my already impressive collection. Although I stake no claim to being a Rhodes scholar, it may be of some interest (forgive my boasting) to note that I did graduate magna cum laude mouth and salutatorian of my class. My salutatory address at the time was Nashville. My classmate, the only other person in the class, good old Mose Bose, gradutated summa cum laude speaker and was valedictorian. [It was a very small college.] --Hank
