1 | What is the answer to this question? | Luke 20:4 | Mommapbs | 123335
Rowdy, indeed, there will be things that we disagree on, but what a wonderful blessing is ours IN Christ! You say to-may-toe and I say to-maa-toe . . . v 21: baptism saves you . . . through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is not the physical action but a spiritual reality for all believers. (If you had a loved one who had never been baptized and he/she came to faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ for his/her sin on his/her deathbed, would you be bold enough to say that he/she is not saved?) mommapbs |

2 | What is the answer to this question? | Luke 20:4 | WalkingTalkingBible | 123346
Hi, mommapbs, I've enjoyed the discussion about baptism between you and Rowdy. Your question at the end of your post especially got my attention. I have a similar question to some of those I fellowship with: If a person who never spoke in tongues got up to teach, would you be so bold to say that he/she isn't filled with the Holy Ghost?) This is something I'm facing today - the "tongue speakers" seem to believe that those who haven't spoken in tongues are not filled with the Holy Ghost. This is so discouraging to the new converts. Thanks for your question at the end of your post, it makes me wonder how different ones would answer. I thank God for the truth! WalkingTalkingBible |

3 | What is the answer to this question? | Luke 20:4 | Rowdy | 123348
To me personally, if a person were to say that to a new convert in my presence, I would have pull that person aside and counsel them that they should be more concerned with dispensing the love of God through their ministry than showing off their ability to speak in a questionable language. 1 Cor 13 makes this very, very clear. Love outranks everything else we do as christians. It MUST be paramount to everyone that is our top priority. In this scenario, a person should be willing to take a little discouragement since they are the stronger person of faith as per Paul's instructions. Just my opinion. God bless. --Rowdy |

I am asking God for direction in this situation. The person who makes the announcement is being obedient. I said to myself when I heard the statement being made that if they would focus on love more than tongues, the new converts will be able to understand tongues and all (not the gift). Love is most important. Thank you for your response. WalkingTalkingBible |
