Is Jesus here distinguishing Himself from God? Quite the contrary. His reply could be interpreted to mean, "Since no one is good except God and since you call me good, you must be calling me God." . . . Note that I am not being dogmatic about this. I am saying that this is ONE logical interpretation based on the text and on what we know of Christ. I'm sure there are other, equally plausible, interpretations. |
