1 | What type of baptism is this? | Luke 12:50 | Dave Lusk | 79900 | ||
Rom 6:3-4 and Mark 10:38-39 speak of baptisim and being baptised in Christ. The word Baptise comes from the Hebrew-Aramaic word Baptizo which has same meaning as to dip as in dipping a garment in a dye to color it or to sink something under water.As many Christian beliefs explain the act of baptism as the total immersion in water as represetative of standing you are live, death buried as was Christ the immersion under water, to resurrection raised up out of the water. So my understanding from translation is the baptise is total immersion. Hope this helps. Yours in Christ, Dave Lusk |

Dave Lusk, thank you for your response. So how was Christ immersed in Mark 10:38-39 and Luke 12:50? Read the Greek words translated washing(s) in Mar 7:4, Luk 11:38, Heb 9:10 ... then read post 5606 ... I believe immerison is just a tradition, not the complete truth. Searcher |
