1 | when is the antichrist coming | Luke 10:27 | hefourgvs | 125110
hi justme, i followed the traditional theory for most of my christian life (about 18 years) but for the last 5 years i have been challeged. by the same scritpures oddly. the fact is when you can confirm events and scripture with scripture rather than a future theory it is hard to argue with. the kingdom theory is becoming more excepted every day. alot of the tv preachers beleive in kingdom now but they didnt preach it. i think its probably because it doesnt pay good right now. i beleive mathew 24 is in the past. revelation has been fulfilled. john begins by saying " i was in the spirit on the lords day and heard a voice behind me, i turned and looked and saw seven golden candle sticks (the church). picture the tabernacle of moses. john was in the holy place, past the veil!!!! church was in the intercourt. when did the veil go away? when he was crucified. i could go on but i think you are probably following me ok. with love, hefourgvs

hefourgvs, One of the points of contention in this view (preterist) is the dating of the Book of Revelation. Eastons' Bible Dictionary notes that "The date of the writing of this book has generally been fixed at 96, in the reign of Domitian. There are some, however, who contend for an earlier date, 68 or 69, in the reign of Nero. Those who are in favour of the later date appeal to the testimony of the Christian father Irenaeus, who received information relative to this book from those who had seen John face to face. He says that the Apocalypse “was seen no long time ago." Based on my study, I would hold to the later dating of Revelation. Also, as Matt. 24 is speaking of the second coming of Christ (and not the rapture), I find it difficult to hold that (particularly) verses 29-31 are past!? Depending on what "TV Preachers" you have in mind, I wouldn't as a whole put a lot of stock in them:-) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
