1 | Can one who commits suicide be saved? | Mark 3:28 | melchizedekau | 3076
i hope you dont believe once saved always saved. it is only by the Grace of God there go i.it is a choice and i chose life.look in the bible and tell me who was it that committed suicide?God was not in these men. you are talking about the predestined chosen ones, like peter.you must remember that if we chose our way, our wants, our needs, and not Gods way then i say if Jesus isnt lord of all, then He isnt Lord at all! if there is a luke warmness we will be spewed out of His mouth. His will is that none should perrish.then why do they? We all must go through a garden experience to reach the cross then through the cross into the waters of resurection and a new life of Christ.this is all in Gods timing not ours.do you really believe that God would let some one commit suicide and not try and help them ?my God is a God of the living not the dead and aloving father. so he who destroys the temple of the Holy spirit God shall also destroy them. Sin increases and grace abounds all the more! Check out Paul's flow of thought through all of Romans chapter five. What is his conclusion in 6:1? Same as ours if we believe that suicide does not make you lose your salvation (if one is really accepted in the Beloved), then we don't think we recommend it at all! No more than Paul does in Romans five and six. What in the world could make one think even for a moment conclude its okay?

Your distinction of internal VERSUS external sin is not Biblical! If it was, then Paul made non-sense by saying what he did in Rom. 5 and 6 (and everything else he wrote). And he of all people should be able to demonstrate some knowledge of this substantive distinction if it really were substantive! Yet he and all the rest of the Bible is completely silent on this idea being of value. Is there internal sin, yes. Is there external sin, yes. Is there a difference, yes. Does the difference matter, NO. SIN is SIN. Don't trivialize sin, don't break it down into doable sizes, and above all don't make non-sense of Bible texts by assuming it is a substantive distinction!!!! If Paul only meant external sin (Romans 5 and 6) then grace doesn't cover internal sin! We learn there that sin will not condemn us. But if you are right, then it will condemn us if it is internal sin. If this is true then Paul really blew it bad by talking as he does about how great it is and how much more it is than the death we are born into (in Adam). You see it really wouldn't be true at all that it is so great and all that if it doesn't abound to you for your thoughts and whatever you have been internalizing about ...oh a .. me for example. The rest of your comments indicate you need to re-read my earlier postings regarding suicide, and then read them over again. |

Sin is sin and it doesn't matter if it is internal or external all sin will do nicely to send every person to hell. So Jesus Christ's sacrifice covers all sin or we of all people are most miserable. His propititiation (that means satisfaction) isn't only for external sin, grace abounds because of the increase of sin. Paul was opposed to sin even though grace abounds to sinners. We are also to do the same thing. As I have been saying all along; don't fool yourself into believing that you don't have external sin (or internal, there is no meaningful difference). Christ's sacrifice is adequate for us! We who trust Him for salvation don't trust our acts of obedience or you aren't trusting Him for salvation and it is by works so you boast in your works. Paul received the same condemnation from people of his day as John Calvin, who said if we aren't being reviled for our grace message, then we are likely not preaching real grace! If its grace we preach it will often be twisted to antinomianism! (that means lawlessness) |

yes i agree in some points. sin is sin but it is the sin in us we must deal with first. a cursed man connot free a cursed man.you must be free from the internal sin ,yours, so the external sin, theirs, can be dealt with.just as Jesus was the first born we must follow His foot steps,so we can free the captives by bringing them to the mercy of God.this take an acceptance of responsiblity to ones own actions and faults.then Gods grace covers the imperfections until the day of Judgement.satan had nothing in Jesus and by His Blood we are covered.YIC
