1 | who was Simon of Cyrene | Mark 15:21 | prayon | 41512
Greetings, Simon was a man from Northern Africa who began as a spectator, watching our Lord as He was led out of the city. The soldiers forced him to carry the cross. What an honor that must of been for him for all eternity. If simon was at first forced to become personally involved in the physical cross of Jesus, it appears later that he chose to take on the spiritual meaning of the cross for himself. prayon

3 | who was Simon of Cyrene | Mark 15:21 | prayon | 41721
Greetings, You can come to this conclusion because both of his sons recognized the Christian church and Paul mentions Rufus with warm affection (Romans 16:13). The sons were probably young at this time since Simon must of been young and fit enough to carry the cross. I doubt that the soldiers would of chosen an older man to carry the heavy cross. Simon had to of encouraged them in the Christian faith. prayon
