1 | What did the disciples understand? | Mark 10:30 | Aixen7z4 | 96716
I am surprised that you would not even consider the idea of sharing. What I mean is that you do not seem to think that the idea that Jesus was referring to our sharing what we have is even worth considering. Where do you think the early disciples got the idea that they should share? |

2 | What did the disciples understand? | Mark 10:30 | CDBJ | 96736
Don’t be surprised, I’m not a bleeding heart or a little mister goody two shoes. I am a realistic right winged conservative and not politically correct. I think Jesus Christ is the only way to get to heaven and if anyone doesn’t believe in Him and trust in what He did for them they will go to hell no if ands or buts! John 14:6 I would, however, certainly consider sharing Christ with all! Even if I gave every cent I have to the poor and they didn’t understand the message of Christ and what he has done for them, it won’t help them one bit, they would end up just like the fellow that had many possessions, his eyes were on the wrong thing. There is such a thing as giving too much to the wrong people! Some people have to learn to stand on their own two feet. End of soap box! All Scripture has a primary interoperation and most have a practical application, take your pick! I thought that you wanted me to keep it in context! The issue isn’t sharing but faith in Christ and the things that hinder faith in Christ! It would be no big deal for God to give every believer millions of dollars, if we had the capacity for it. But most would only end up worse off in this life then they were before they got the wealth. Many would say, “so long God I will see you in eternity!” Mark 10:17-27 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. 19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. 22And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. 23And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? 27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. I try to spend my time winning the opportunity to share the message about Jesus Christ and what he has done for those that are willing to put their faith in him! If you want to share something else please feel free to do so you have my blessings! Many of the organizations that started out helping others did so for the shear purpose of share the message of the gospel of Christ; now they have turned into nothing more then a service organization, with very little of the gospel message going out! Notice I didn’t say all! Have a nice day, CDBJ |

3 | What did the disciples understand? | Mark 10:30 | Aixen7z4 | 96737
Talk about surprises! I agree with you. Like you, I would hate to think that I had given every cent I have to the poor and they didn’t understand the message of Christ. But CDBJ, we are not talking about doing that. We are talking about the fact Jesus promised to give believers these things. You may have decided to not preach that part of Jesus' message to people who do not know him. (In context, Jesus was talking to those who had already believed). But when they do come to know him they may read that and they may ask us what it means. That is what happened. What do we tell them? I hope we will tell them, "Mi casa es su casa. My house is your house". As we have opportunity, we should do good to all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith. With them, we should practice hospitality and other forms of sharing. So being affectionately desirous of them, let us be willing to impart unto them, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because they are dear unto us. We do not need bleeding hearts, but we do need soft hearts. So be kind one to another, tenderhearted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. We will be helping to fulfil his promises as well. If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well. |

If I would tell the people around here, "Mi casa es su casa” they would probable say, “Speak English boy, you are in the United States America now!” But then again Paul said. 1 Cor. 9:22 (B) I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. About the only other language spoken on this forum, other then English, since I have been a member, have been either Hebrew or Greek and only then for the reason of clarification of Bible Doctrine not confusion. Have a great day, CDBJ |
