Isa How is possible to talk to yourself? Yet you do it all the time I imagine (at least I do). How is possible to call Jesus an Apostle of God yet think he lied, yet you do. Jesus clearly said of Himself that He and God were one. John 10:30. He is either lying or He really was. To prove He really was He said He would be killed and buried and three days later He would arise. Isa that is exactly what he did. John chapter 18-20. |

I don't think he lied. But why go to the extreme of him LYING or him claiming to be GOD? There's no middle option? But you forget that in John 17:11 Jesus says: John 17:11 "I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. Now he says "that THEY may be one EVEN as we are" So, either he is lying or maybe we should all be worshipping each other as God --- just like he is One with God,all of us should be One with God (in his words we should be one with God in the SAME WAY he is one with God, not figuratively correct?) Also dont forget John 17:22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one Again he claims that we can be one with God just like he is.. Are you sure he is implying we can be divine (part of the trinity/son of God) as he is? I think that he did not mean "I am one with God" literally, but he meant one with God in Purpose, not substance. The discliples could not become One With God like he was, but they can be one in purpose, just as Jesus and the Father are one in Purpose. |

3 | that they may be one as we are one | Mark 10:18 | kalos | 11147 | ||
Isa: You write: "I don't think he lied. But why go to the extreme of him LYING or him claiming to be GOD? There's no middle option?" When a man claims to be God, I would say he's already taken an extreme position. In the case of Jesus Christ there are only three alternatives. He was either: a) God, as He claimed to be; or if not God, then He was either b) a liar; or c) a lunatic. There is no fourth alternative. If He was indeed not who He claimed to be, then He was NOT a prophet. There is no middle ground. Sir, I welcome you to the Forum and appreciate your interest. Not to insult or judge you, but when I read many of your postings, I cannot help but wonder: Do your questions signify a genuine desire to learn from the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Or, are you here to proselytize or argue with the teachings of the Bible? I accuse you of nothing; I merely ask the question. Are you an inquirer after Christ or a skeptic? |
