I started to I must admit and then I stopped once to uncomfortable feeling that we were wrong started and then the Word came to me. I took this word to a senior lecturer and due to some college politics it went no further. Sad but true. Why wasn't this message communicated to everyone else by God. I don't know. |

The right way to pray a. The right kind of prayer does not use vain repetition, which is any and every praying which is all words and no meaning, all lips and no mind or heart. i. The Rabbis had sayings like: "Whoever is long in prayer is heard" and "Whenever the righteous make their prayer long, their prayer is heard." ii. One famous Jewish prayer began: "Blessed, praised, and glorified, exalted, and honored, magnified and lauded be the name of the Holy One" iii. When we try to impress God with our many words, we deny who God is: a loving, yet holy Father; instead, we should follow the counsel of Ecclesiastes 5:2: God is in heaven, and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few. This is a commentary from my file, with some thought on Matthew 6:7. You are speaking of a different topic, speaking in tongues. Don't confuse speaking in tongues with hindu chanting. "Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way." 1Corinthians 14:39-40 (NIV). God bless |

I am not confusing the two at all actually, and besides were you there when this event occurred may I ask? It may interest you to note that I took tthe word I recieved on the matter to two Bible Collegue authorities and they agreed with me that the Word was from God, and this was a pentecostal Bible College. I speak in tongues but I will repeat for your benefit that now its always done with the right heart attitude in mind. I agree with your quotes but don't think Christians can't do the same. I was saying nothing about forbidding tongues, just about an experience that I had. I would caution you to read things fully before attempting to correct the author. |

The comparison did not orginate with me. The Word which came from God "They have turned my gift into a Hindu Mantra" did not originate with me. I have already advised of how the whole thing came about. Speaking in tongues on normal terms is nothing like a Hindu Mantra but if it is done without engaging ones heart it might as well be. We can agree to disagree. |
