Greetings again Steve, Here's a quote that I would like to share with you.. "His star in the East may refer to a star supernaturally introduced into the heavens, discernible only to students of the sky. The star reappeared to guide the wise men to where Christ was (v. 9). The fact that it was called "His star" indicates that the wise men identified the star with the arrival of the King of the Jews." (The Nelson Study Bible) "..This could not have been a supernova or a conjunction of planets ... because of the way the star moved and settled over one place (cf. v.9). It is more likely a supernatural reality similar to the Shekinah that guided the Israelites in the days of Moses (Ex. 13:21)." (MacArthur Study Bible) I hope this helps! Nolan |
