Joe, well put. I appreciate your candor. Also, thank you for defining "rebuke". I misunderstood its definition and will no longer be afraid to walk on eggshells around irascible people when it comes to my beliefs. Btw, his or her name is Coffee, not Cookie (yet another way one could believe he or she is being unlovingly belittled). In Christ, Estelle |

Estelle: You wrote: 'Joe, well put. I appreciate your candor. Also, thank you for defining "rebuke". I would never try and belittle and honest seeker of the truth, but there are wolves that do come in with the intent not of learning more about God, but of disrupting and spreading false teachings. the thing to remember is that, no matter how gently one presents it, God uses His word and His people to accompish his purpose of saving people. He does not do it without the church, and He does not save people apart from the truth of his word. Therefore, the truth must always be spoken (Romans 10:14). "Btw, his or her name is Coffee, not Cookie (yet another way one could believe he or she is being unlovingly belittled)." You are correct. My apologies for not paying closer attention! --Joe! |
