1 | Thief on Cross discrepancy Mt vs Lk | Matt 27:44 | wordoer | 107868
Hello Xenoid, I wanted to answer you sooner but I could not remember where I had come across the information relating to your question, It happens this evening, I open “Bullinger's Companion Bible”, and there it is in the Appendixes (page 187), Appendix number “164”. In my opinion, (for whatever that is worth), it gives a very detailed account of the discrepancies and possible solution, along with word studies and history, concerning the “others” crucified with our Lord. I hope you find the information helpful, wordoer |

2 | Thief on Cross discrepancy Mt vs Lk | Matt 27:44 | sdtaylor99 | 107870
I just heard a Preacher preach on this last night. He pointed out the fact the they were both malefactors. These were wicked criminals. All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, but the gospels are "according to" the person that wrote it through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Preacher that I heard pointed out that Luke gave a more descriptive detail of the event. Both malefactors were deriding Jesus. While one was saying "get down, get down," the other one got under conviction and realized that God had a plan for us though His Son, Jesus. He began to say, "stay up there, stay up there," and Jesus said, "Verily, verily," which means that He was saying, "Amen." I hope that this has been helpful to you. Keep growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. |
