1 | Unleavened Bread Prior to Passover? | Matt 26:17 | Jesusman | 32097
Hello, In Exodus at the first passover, it states that the feast of the unleavened bread begins on the evening of the fourteenth day and continues until the twenty-first day. So, what you have is on the fourteenth day, Passover, followed by the feast of the unleavened bread for seven days. On the fourteenth and twenty-first days, you have holy days in which no work is to be done. So, you have the Last supper on the 14th, Jesus dying and being buried on the 20th, resting on the 21st due to Passover week, resting on the 22nd due to Sabbath, and raising on the 23rd, which was a Sunday. Confused yet? :-) Jesusman |

2 | Passover the first of Unleavened Bread? | Matt 26:17 | jdpindynet | 32118
Jesusman, Ok, let's count the days. 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21. That's eight days. First is the Passover, followed by the Feast of Unleavened Bread (seven days). The 14th (at twilight, or in the evening) is the Passover of the Lord. The 15th and 21st are the 'Holy Convocations' of Unleavened Bread. So I still have my original question. Why are the disciples asking Jesus where he wants them to prepare for the Passover on the first day of Unleavened Bread? Aren't they a day late? Jesusman wrote: Confused Yet? :-) jdpindynet replies: You Bet! Thanks again for your reply. It is a blessing to be able to discuss these things with another. jdpindynet |
