1 | Is poor the only way? | Matt 25:45 | Thomas8 | 203538
Hi F.o.o.t.man, I'd like to know more about Paul's situation, too. He certainly lost all benefits that his old life had with the Jewish authorities. A couple of verses that came to mind are: Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. (Act 3:6 KJVR) And Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast a hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. (Mat 17:27 KJVR) Maybe Jesus did not carry money? |

2 | Is poor the only way? | Matt 25:45 | F.o.o.t.man | 203547
Maybe. I am reminded, however, of the last supper and a clue that may shed light on this. "After the morsel, Satan then entered him (Judas). Therefore Jesus said to him, 'What you do, do quickly.' Now no one of those reclining at the table knew for what purpose He had said this to him. For some were supposing, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, 'Buy the things we have need of for the feast'; or else, that he should give something to the poor. (John 13:27-29 NASB)" This seems to say to me that Jesus kept money with him to a greater or lesser extent.
