Personal profile for user screen name: TheProphet Hello, y'all (Texan). Actually, I'm a transplanted Texan. I grew up in Pennsylvania. I was raised Roman Catholic. The lapel pin noting "I survived Catholic School" applies to me in particular. I felt drawn to God at an early age, and in my teens I martriculated into an RC seminary (Bet you didn't know them priests martriculate, did ya' ?). I was asked to de-martriculate after a single year because I wasn't suitable from a disiplinary point of view. I joined the CIA (Catholic-Irish-Alcoholics). Got married to the first woman who would have sex with me. The union lasted a mere 6 years. I was despondent all of the time. Nothing I applied to seemed to work out. By this time I had been in AA for a few years. A friend of mine from the program had been dating a young lady for a while, and one night we got into a conversation on religion. I was attracted to the biblical knowledge the young woman had ("Faith cometh by hearing....').I attended a home fellowship with her, and I was hooked. The word of God changed my life forever. I spent a couple of years as a missionary (I'm not a Mormon.). I met a sane christian woman with a godly attitude and married her. That was 27 years ago and it's been great all of that time. I'm sure some religious fanatic can take apart what I'm saying and make me look like a heathen, but I'm happy loving and serving God, and That's fine with me.(The above information has been submitted by the author for use solely by the StudyBibleForum.com) |
