Kalos, In this passage they are talking about the 2nd coming of the CHRIST. The ones taken are the believers. Jesus in his teachings taught the people in parables like in Matt.25
2 | Who are the ones taken? | Matt 24:40 | kalos | 44974
Who are the ones taken? (Question re-worded) Read Matt 24:36-44. Then answer this question: According to the PLAIN TEXT of this passage, who are the ones taken? I.e., are they unbelievers or believers? For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood THEY were eating and drinking, THEY were marrying and giving in marriage, THEY did not understand until the flood came and took THEM all away; Let me ask: In the days of Noah, before the flood: 1) WHO were eating and drinking (business as usual)? unbelievers or believers? 2) WHO were marrying and giving in marriage (business as usual)? unbelievers or believers? 3) WHO did not understand until the flood came? unbelievers or believers? (Is it likely that Noah, who had been warned and instructed of God, is the one who did not understand until the flood came?) 4) In light of your answers (based on the text) to the above 3 questions, WHO was taken away by the flood? unbelievers or believers? |

3 | Who are the ones taken? | Matt 24:40 | Makarios | 44976
Greetings Kalos! I apologize if I misunderstood your previous questions or the context that you were referring to, my friend. The answer is a unanimous one for unbelievers! It was the 'unbelievers' who were eating and drinking and who were 'taken away' at the time of Noah. That is my final answer! :-) Makarios |

4 | Believers or non-believers ? | Matt 24:40 | Ken John | 55468
Makarios, greetings ! I am new to this study programme so need to get used to the format and how to go about dealing with the questions. So am I correct in my understanding of these verses inthat the believers are taken (as was Noah in the Ark) and the non-believers will be left on earth to suffer the consequences of their unbelief ?? I have been told before that the non-believers will be taken to Hell leaving the believers to meet our Lord but this does not make sense to me...do you agree ? Ken John. |

5 | Believers or non-believers ? | Matt 24:40 | Makarios | 55490
Greetings Ken! Welcome to the Forum! The only people whom the Lord will put forth any effort in saving are the ones who have put their faith and trust in Him. The Lord is a just God, and He can't just wipe away the condemnation that unsaved people have justly brought upon themselves. Just as in the days of Noah, one will be taken and the other left.. I believe that the rapture will occur, where all of the believers in Christ are taken to be with Him. Then I believe that Christ will come and judge the earth, and the battle of Armagedon will occur. That is my honest opinion, and I don't expect people to agree with me. But I do expect people to agree with me that we must be ready before He does return to earth! Blessings to you, Makarios |
