1 | What think ye of Christ? | Matt 22:42 | Morant61 | 105046 | ||
Greetings Aixen7z4! What do I think about Christ? I think that Christ is a God of unrelenting love. I believe that God demonstrates His heart to us time and time again in both Scripture and life. He is the Eternal Father of the prodigal, looking down the road and waiting for His son to return home. I never understood what that parable really meant until my daughter ran away. For three months, I didn't know where she was or if she was alive. Then, for almost 5 years, I did know where she was and what she was doing, but she wasn't 'home'. Yet, through it all, I still loved her. So also, does Christ love me unconditionally. His love is such that Jonah refused to go to Nineveh because he knew that God was '...a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity." (Jonah 4:2). His love is like that of a man who loves a faithless wife. Though she is unfaithful, He is faithful (see Hosea). His love is such that He died for me though I were His enemy (Rom. 5:1-11). He will never ever leave or forsake me. He has been there in my deepest hour of need. He has heard and answered my prayers. He has eased my grief and given me hope in the valley of death. As the hymnist proclaims, 'Such love, such wonderous love'. How could I not love Him in return? I love Him more everyday! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Amen to all that, and I'll read it again and lift my heart in praise to Him. To those who contacted the site owners: Please send them another note and tell them not to bother. I suggest we simply follow Brother Tim’s lead here and praise the Lord. Let’s leave it up to them to stop us. I don’t think they will. I like what Kathy said. Sometimes we are lost for words with which to praise him. I often have to borrow the words of others, like hymn writers, for example. Like this one: Fairest of all the earth beside, Chiefest of all unto His bride, Fullness divine in Him I see, Beautiful Man of Calvary! That Man of Calvary Has won my heart from me, And died to set me free, Blest Man of Calvary! Granting the sinner life and peace, Granting the captive sweet release, Shedding His blood to make us free, Merciful Man of Calvary! Giving the gifts obtained for men, Pouring out love beyond our ken, Giving us spotless purity, Bountiful Man of Calvary! Comfort of all my earthly way, I will meet Jesus some sweet day; Center of glory he will be, Wonderful Man of Calvary! That Man of Calvary Has won my heart from me, And died to set me free, Blest Man of Calvary! |
