1 | Why was the man speechless? | Matt 22:11 | rbt56 | 29332 | ||
Joe and Emmaus, I am afraid that this still boils down for some of us who are told to be sure of their salvation, but are still afraid of their works. Will Jesus greet us by saying "I never knew you." Will we end up in heaven only to be cast out by the King himself(and not very lovingly I might add). I have always felt the work of the Spirit in my heart and life since I invited Jesus to be my Lord. My life has changed, often like Chuck Swindoll says, 2 steps forward, one step back...although sometimes vice-versa. Without boring you with the 32 years since that day, I am suddenly empty. And I can testify that this is not an aberation of mid-life. There has to be some other concrete way to know, to help others know. I'm just tired of this "drifting" feeling. Thanks for the dialog. Peace |

RBT56 The fact that your questioning your salvation tells me it is a concern in your life. I think it also reveals the condition of your heart. To me it shows a soft heart one in which the Lord is very important and I believe that is exactly the type of heart the Lord desires. Jesus has said he would never leave you nor forsake you, and you have to trust and depend on that by faith. I think your questions and concerns are brought about by the adversary to intimidate you and make you question your salvation. Again it is the heart that the Lord looks at not works, outward manifestations, or even a our doubts. If your heart seeks hard after God, God is faithful to keep you. You just need to build up your faith to drive these doubts from your mind. I would suggest you talk to your Pastor. Be open and explain how you feel and what your working through. I’m sure with his guidance, the work of the Holy Spirit and your desire, you will come to the place where you know, that you know, that you know you are a beloved child of the Lord. EdB |
