1 | What order is in Greek for Matt.21:29 | Matt 21:29 | William R. Hartley | 107009
I admit I am still confused. I guess I need to make a disclaimer to my First Edition Reference edition and my regular NASV that I use from the pulpit when I come to this passage or pull the reference from Biblegateway.com for powerpoint, and have it read opposite from what I have. My question is regarding earlier printings and the later printings and why the change occured to make it look like the earlier ones were in error. My Interlinear must be an earlier one than the Tyndale one you have referred to. But what is it in the Greek? |

2 | What order is in Greek for Matt.21:29 | Matt 21:29 | EdB | 107020
William R. Hartley I'm no Greek scholar and perhaps Moran61 will get involved here but I went to my Logos/Libronix system which is pretty faithful to the actual language and it constructs the verse as such; answer (g611) afterward (g5305) regretted (g3338) went (g565) The numbers in parenthesis being the Strong's numbers. The passage Matthew 21:29-31 reads Matthew 21:29 answered (G611) afterward (G5305) regretted (G3338) went (G565) Matthew 21:30 came (G4334) second (G1208) said (G3004) same (G5615) thing (G5615) answered (G611) will (G2309) sir (G2962) go (G565) Matthew 21:31 Which(G5101) two (G1417) did (G4160) will (G2307) father (G3962) said (G3004) first (G4413) Jesus (G2424) said (G3004) Hope this helps makes you appreciate the work of the translators doesn't it EdB |
