I agree with you Jalek. Another way of saying it: If anything tempts you to sin, and if you cannot consistently overcome that temptation, then do whatever you have to so that you do not have to face that temptation in the first place. For example, if you sin after seeing magazine covers on the news stand, then don't ever go to the news stand no matter what you may need/want from it. |

Dear Justin, That is a good example! When I thought of what you wrote, it occurred to me, this is obeying preemptively. I read a book by David Platt in which he had another term for it: "Radical obedience to Christ is not easy... It's not comfort, not health, not wealth, and not prosperity in this world. Radical obedience to Christ risks losing all these things. But in the end, such risk finds its reward in Christ. And he is more than enough for us." Thank you for bringing up this example!
