1 | Spiritual | Matt 18:18 | Appleseed | 10248
I love you all. I write this is pure love. I agree that Matt 18:18, is related to the church, body of Christ. I never said it was not. My previous message builds, adds, on Abrahamic covenant that we have through Jesus Christ. And it states that the spiritual world exists, we have the authority of darkness (as per my previous message), and therefore we can bind demons. I think this is the point that most find difficult believing. If you don't believe you can bind them in the Name of Jesus Christ, then you are right, you cannot. If you believe you can bind them in the name of Jesus Christ then you are right too, you can. Jesus said, All things are possible to him who believes (Mark 9:23). “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt. 19:26). With God, is the operative word. So believe in Jesus and believe His Word. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do” (John 14:12). Believe it or not, we have the authority over the spiritual world and we will be measured in what we do with it. To summarize a quote taken from the Young’s Literal Translation Jesus said, “And I also say to thee, that thou art a rock, and upon this rock I will build my assembly, and gates of Hades shall not prevail against it; and I will give to thee the keys of the reign of the heavens, and whatever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever thou mayest loose upon the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.” (Matt. 16:19 - YLT). Note some translations say Heaven, the Literal Version says heavens. It refers to the spiritual realm. How do we loose and bind demons? With our tongue, consciously or idle words (Lev. 5:4-6, Jer. 44:25, Prov. 13:3, Prov. 18:20-21 etc). If I don’t believe, then they are loosened with my words. If I believe, then they are bound with my words. David said, “I believed, therefore have I spoken” (Ps. 116:10). There is power in our tongue. That is why it is so important to do everything in the Name of Jesus Christ (Col. 3:17) Jesus said, “I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matt. 12:36-37). Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing (James 3) Read a book called, “A Divine Revelation of Hell” by Mary K. Baxter. Forever young in the Vine Me (Your brother in Christ) |

2 | Tell me who unties them? | Matt 18:18 | EdB | 10276
Appleseed If we can in fact bind Satan and the demons tell me who keeps untying them? I have heard people bind the spirit of darkness over a situation, yet nothing changes. Until the next personn comes and says we have to bind whatever. The word says nothing about binding Satan but rather it says James 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. |

3 | Tell me who unties them? | Matt 18:18 | Makarios | 10300
EdB, I agree with everything that you have stated here.. However, I have seen a demon exorcism! I have read about them, and I have one actually recorded on cassette tape! Can you explain these things without suggesting that the believer who is exorcising the demon has (maybe even in a limited capacity) some authority here that is given to them by Christ? Luke 10:17-19 seem to speak otherwise here. In my experience, the person who was afflicted with the demon actually accepted Christ, and that is what eventually helped the person and drove the demon away. I am not disagreeing with you fully here, but this is something that is not totally addressed by the statement, "There is no Scriptural evidence for the binding/loosing of demons.." Nolan |

4 | Tell me who unties them? | Matt 18:18 | EdB | 10306
Nolan I was not talking about exorcism, the freeing of someone of a demon. I was talking about the common practice of spiritual warfare of binding Satan. We can't bind Satan from doing anything. Now I can plead the blood of Jesus and I know Satan will not cross the blood line. But to say I bind you from this situation is nothing more to me than telling Satan where he can hurt you most. I would ask Jesus to place this situation under his blood, to loose angels to guard against the adversary, but trying to binding Satan is like calling to the wind, since we have never been given the authority to bind him. If you feel we can bind Satan how does he then get loose? Ed |

5 | Tell me who unties them? | Matt 18:18 | Appleseed | 10308
Satan is an angel and therefore not omnipresent. He can only be in one place at a time. Do you think satan will come near those who have authority? He is stupid but not that stupid. He will rather send his henchmen
6 | Tell me who unties them? | Matt 18:18 | EdB | 10311
Appleseed I'll imagine you also believe if one can send a thousand to flight 2 can send 10 thousand to flight. If you do read Deut. 32:30 in context and you will find this age old belief of the spiritual warfare people is really God telling Israel what is going to happen to them if they continue on the path they are pursuing. Stop worrying about Satan and rest in Christ Jesus. Jesus has fought the battle He has won the war, Satan is defeated. Satan is not going anywhere near where Jesus is and Jesus lives in the believer. Get past it! |
