1 | Another scripture to support this? | Matt 17:4 | carol777 | 39714
I've thought of that one, but Moses and Elijah are both on earth, not in heaven, neither do they have a new name. Do you know another scripture to support knowing one another in heaven?
2 | Another scripture to support this? | Matt 17:4 | Kinnison | 39723
Both Elijah and Moses had unusual circumstances around thier death. moses was allwoed to see the promised land in his old age, died on top of a mountain, and accorind to scripture, God buried Moses himself. And moses body was never to be found. While Elijah was carried up to heaven in a Whirlwind. So are they really on earth? Peter wanted to show how special the place was by buidling houses, or temples for Moses and Elijah. but later, Jesus told him to keep this thing quiet until he was glorifed. no, i concider Moses and Elijah to be in heaven. They were there to possible comfort jesus in his trial ahead. |

3 | Wasn't it Peter, on earth, who knew? | Matt 17:4 | carol777 | 39777
Yes, I agree there were special circumstances around their deaths, but the text seems to say this occurred on earth. They still had their same names. Also the recognition was on the part of Peter, who was obviously still in an earthly state. This verse gives no verification to the state of our souls in heaven.
4 | Wasn't it Peter, on earth, who knew? | Matt 17:4 | Kinnison | 39782
They appreared on earth. The prophet Samuel appeared on earth after his death also. Once you die, you arrive at Judgement day. And belivers go to heaven. There is really no biblical referance to say there is a in between area. So i ahve to assume taht Elijah, and Moses were in heaven, and appeared on top of the mountain for Peter and the others to see the. and see the power of the living god |

5 | Wasn't it Peter, on earth, who knew? | Matt 17:4 | carol777 | 39872
Kinnison, I truly appreciate your reply. However, I still don't feel that situation fully answers the original question, "If we have a new body and a new name, will we know one another in heaven?" This came up in a Sunday Night Bible study I attend and no one there had a good answer. I've since asked several knowledgable Bible Scholars, they didn't have a good answer. I'm beginning to think we'll just have to find out when we get there. I personally believe we will recognize one another, but the relationships will be on a different plane. I have nothing to back this up. Thanks again for your help.
