1 | how did jesus teach disciples about | Matt 16:19 | Matt1078 | 208910
Hi Doc: You say. "This is the good news... the gospel itself." Are you saying the "Good News" is the Gospel of the Kingdom, what about the Gospel of Salvation? I have never heard, that the Kingdom of God -- Kingdom of Heaven, is the redemptive power, could you please expound on this? Where can I find it? Be Blessed Matt. |

Matt1078 :: Your personal profile begins with these statements: "Saved 1967. Born again 1972." Tell us what you mean by "saved" and "born again" if you please. Do you conceive of the two terms as being separate entities? To put it another way, what is the difference between being saved and being born again, or how is it possible to be saved WITHOUT being born again? What do the Scriptures teach? --Hank

Shalom Hank, May I elaborate a little? I may not have it right where Matt1078 is concerned but I think I can explain it. It kinda goes back to the WOF gang. A person gets "saved" like the regular ordinary christian. And that's it, it's just ordinary, nothing special. THEN... baptism in the Holy Ghost, tongues, revelation, insight.... one is now "born again." They're now more than just saved, they're "spiritual" and open to all kinds of new spiritual things that the "regular ordinary pew" christian is blissfully unaware of. Please DON'T think I'm saying that this is right thinking!!!! But this is where I was some 30 years ago, and this thinking is as prevelant today as then. People like to be special, to have knowledge that no one else has, WOF is great at dishing it out, too. Anyway, there you have it, the 2 events, and to people in that mind-set, they are two totally separate events, one hanging from the other and neither complete without the other. If I stepped on any toes, I do apologize, but I was trying to explain the thinking because I came out of that scene lifetimes ago. :-) Cheri |

Well said sister Cheri! By the way, I'm glad you separated from WOF! This bears witness that you are truly seeking God, in that you are His own possession and seeking truth! :-) God bless John |

Shalom bro, Yes, you are well aware of the struggle I went thru just not too long ago, getting rid of all that junk. Many here at SBF struggled with me, whether they knew it or not :-). That stuff grabs hold of your mind and it hangs on tenaciously, for life even when you're trying to get rid of it! God is good. Cheri |
