1 | Jesus brothers. | Matt 12:46 | Emmaus | 123852 | ||
Kazan, Unfortunately, but understandably you have dodged my question in your response. "Show me one passage where anyone other than Jesaus is referred to as the son or daughter of Mary the mother of Jesus. You can't find one, because there isn't one." Maybe they were the children of Joseph from a previous marriage or cousins, but nowhere is anyone else described a a son or daughter of Mary. And where were all these brothers and sisters when Jesus turned over custody of Mary at the foot of the cross? But enough for now. You can see my earlier posts on all subjects related to this by clicking on the Seach button on the left side, then entering my screen name and the word Mary for a search. Emmaus |

I can't think of any references in the Bible to a son or daughter of Mary besides Jesus. Regardless, the Bible does speak of His sisters and brothers. I've heard that most of Jesus' siblings denied He was the Savior, even James who eventually became a Christ follower and wrote the book of James. That may explain why they weren't around when Jesus was crucified. It says in John 7, "Therefore His brothers said to Him, 'Leave here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing. For no one does anything in secret when he himself seeks to be known publicly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.' For not even His brothers were believing in Him."(vs.3-5). Also, Luke 8:19-21 says, "And His mother and brothers came to Him, and they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd. And it was reported to Him, 'Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, wishing to see You.' But He answered and said the them, 'My mother nad My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it." |
