1 | HELP--Real Life Question About Sin- | Matt 12:31 | ourfathersheart | 120748
Question: A man approached me for marriage that is a SAVED SINCERE CHRISTIAN who did horrible things in his own confession in the past. rape, armed robbery, kidnapping. I was the original person who started this chain and want to know if I can come under headship of a man who in the past has done horrible things. I look at it in terms of eternity...is his sin that has been confessed to God and that he paid for inthis life in prison now released all paid for? I am confused about forgiveable sin and unforgiveable sin.
2 | HELP--Real Life Question About Sin- | Matt 12:31 | Mommapbs | 120750
Greetings! The following is taken from an excellent post by Makarios #6751: 1 John 2:2 states that He (Jesus) is the propitiation for not only the sins of the people of whom John was writing to, but also for those (sins) of the whole world. In my line of thinking, this verse makes it clear that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world on the cross. Ryrie's NASB Expanded Study Bible comments concerning this verse, "propitiation equals satisfaction. Christ is the only offering that satisfied God concerning sin (cf. Romans 3:25). Christ died for the sins of the whole world, the entire human race." In Zondervan's NASB Study Bible, 1 John 2:2's commentary reads as follows: "Forgiveness through Christ's atoning sacrifice is not limited to one particular group only; it has worldwide application (see John 1:29). It must, however, be received by faith (see John 3:16). Thus this verse does not teach universalism (that all people ultimately will be saved), but that God is an impartial God."Nelson's NKJV Study Bible comments concerning 1 John 2:2, "The sacrifice of Jesus' sinless life is so effective that it can supply forgiveness for the whole world (see 2 Cor. 5:14,15,19; Heb. 2:9). Christ's death is sufficient for all, but efficient only for those who believe in Christ. Not everyone will be saved, but Jesus offers salvation to all (see Rev. 22:17)." REAL HELP for REAL LIFE - please, after reading the posts I have sent you on propitiation and the "unforgivable sin" - which in my opinion, is impossible for a child of God to commit, I must ask you, for which sins did Jesus NOT die? For which sins that you have listed is Jesus' blood not sufficient? Which of these sins is not covered by the blood of Christ? Which of these sins has not been forgiven? Read 2 Cor 6:14. Forgiveness for SIN is ours on the basis of what God has done for us IN CHRIST. If this man is IN CHRIST, he is completely forgiven BY GOD for ALL his sin - past, present and future, as are ALL who are IN CHRIST. This is not a counselling service but a Bible study forum where we seek to understand God's Word and apply it to our lives. Dear sister, seek out the counsel of your Pastor or elder in the Lord who knows your situation and is familiar with both of you. I'm glad you are seeking the Lord's will in this important decision. Blessings, mommapbs |

3 | fully forgiven | Matt 12:31 | ourfathersheart | 120780
This is a hard question but the truth reigns. Unfortunately we attend different churches right now because of distance but I really wanted to ask for those who love Christ for understanding. Not an easy question..or situation. But yes Jesus did die for ALL of the sins of mankind however horrendous. Amen. Because he now takes his walk with God seriously I do not want him to be condemned by others where I live so I choose to not talk with a local pastor. Unfortunately the "law" does not forgive. Men in this position even if they have repented have a "record" that is like a stain on them even in newness of life. I appreciate your honesty and time mommapbs. You are truly a Godly person. I will continue to pray. One person on here said "Flee from the violent man". I can tell that he does not understand either God's forgiveness or sacrifice either. I am just learning...I "thought" before the last few days that I understood what was forgiveable and what wasn't. But I can see if a person FULLY REPENTS and is truly saved then they are forgiven fully. Amazing...even more than ever how much our Lord loves each of his children irregardless of how fall they fall...

I now understand that his sin HAS been forgiven. He is white as snow. He truly has been SAVED by our Lord. Thank you Jesus. And thank you ALL who cared enough about the kingdom to answer. You have freed me up to love this man...because when I look at him I only see Jesus ...
