Since I believe one can walk away from their salvation, this verse says to me we must press on toward the mark which is our high calling. However there are those that believe once your saved you can do nothing to lose that salvation. Therefore to them rather than this being an admonishment this is a statement of assurance that those that are saved will endure and experience eternal salvation. It all depends from which perspective you read this. EdB |

What happens if you are not in Christ Jesus because you rejected Him? While it seems totally impossible to me I do beleive I have seen people that were in Christ Jesus and for one reason or another later totally and completely rejected him. I know there are those that say they were never really saved. I don't know but I do know they once called upon Jesus for salvation and had fruit evidence in their lives and now totally and completely reject all truth. EdB |
