Thanks Searcher! I'm copying my post to Makarios for you too: I am interested in the possible comparison between the time prior to the First Advent and the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. In the first, the "silence" of God (and the ignorace of Israel?) with His people can be contrasted with the prolific spread of the Gospel (and the ignorance of Israel!)in these last 400 years! It was about 400 years ago when a small group of Christians sought to worship God as HE wanted rather than follow the prescribed pattern as set forth by the "state" religious leaders. So they left their homeland and ventured into the New World. To them, Jesus was worth it all, and many paid for their desire to honor Him with their very lives. Living in the USA, many of us are ignorarnt of our many brothers and sisters across this globe who are still choosing to do the same, as these early "pilgrims" did, today! Anything to add to my comparison? Blessings, Mommapbs |

I would never equate the 400 years of silence with the USA ... nor the bondage in Egypt.
5 | Years of Silence? | Mal 4:6 | Mommapbs | 45093
Greetings Searcher! The following is my personal opinion: Presuming that we are indeed living in these "last days," I'm not equating but rather comparing the 400 years of silence prior to the First Advent with the 400 years of the spread of the Gospel prior to the Second Coming of Christ. Reference to Matthew 24:14. It concerns me that our mainline churches have been negligent in educating their congregants about the Second Coming of Christ. The promised wrath and judgment of God to be brought upon this world is a sobering awareness that should serve as a motivator for believers to become more fervently engaged in personal evangelism and discipleship. I, for one, do not want to be ashamed at His appearing! Mommapbs |
