John 6:46 46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. (KJV) Jesus said no man has seen the Father. He did not say that no man has seen God. Moses did speak to God face to face at the burning bush and elsewhere, but he had not seen the Father. He was not speaking to God the Father, but God the Son. In Exodus 3:14, he said "I AM THAT I AM". In John 8:58, Jesus said "Before Abraham was, I am". In the next verse, they attempted to stone him........Why?..... John 10:32-33 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. (KJV) Adam did not see the Father in the Garden of Eden (Gen. 3:8). Abraham did not see the Father (Gen. 18). Moses did not see the Father (Exo. 33:11). The elders did not see the Father (Exo. 24:9-11). They saw Jesus....God in the flesh....... John 12:45 45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. (KJV) John 14:8-9 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? 2 | Please tell me more about Jesus in OT. | Ex 33:11 | Tim Jerome | 10123 | ||
Your answer to the question about Ex 33:11 has the sound of truth! I'm almost ashamed to say that even at my age of 33 years, I have never heard this teaching before. As I sit here and ponder what you have said, I am thinking, Hey, that makes since! If man encountered Jesus before he was born by that name, what would they call him? Indeed, they would call him Lord! They would call him God! Please share with me more of what you know about this issue that I may be fully convinced of it's validity! Thanks, Tim |

John 4:24 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (KJV) If God is a Spirit, then he cannot be seen by human eyes. However, in Eden,........ Gen 3:8 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. (KJV) How do you hide from something that is invisible? They hid from his voice.... John 1:1 CHAPTER 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (KJV) John 1:14 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (KJV) In John 1, Jesus is called the Word of God. This implies that he speaks for God to man. In other words, he is the intercessor between God and man. He is the "voice" of God. It is strange that the Jews rejected Jesus. They did not know who they were in covenant with. Look at Exodus 24....... Exod 24:9-11 9 Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: 10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness. 11 And upon the nobles of the children of Israel he laid not his hand: also they saw God, and did eat and drink. (KJV) Does God have feet and hands? They did not see the Father, they saw the Son of God. In Genesis 18, three men came to see Abraham. When they departed, they went down to Sodom. Gen 18:22 22 And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. (KJV) Gen 19:1 CHAPTER 19 1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; (KJV) Where was the third man? If two of the men were angels, who was the third?....."but Abraham stood yet before the Lord". Isa 59:1-2 1 Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (KJV) If my iniquities have separated me from God that he cannot hear, then how could he have heard me when I asked him to save me? I was separated from the Father, but I was not separated from the Son........ 1 Tim 2:5 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (KJV) 1 Tim 2:6 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (KJV) Once again,...... John 6:46 46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. (KJV) |
