1 | Mitch, How is this promise for you (all) | Ex 23:25 | Lissamz | 146668 | ||
Hello Saints, I only saw this question presented about the Promised Land (I didn't review the entire thread). But I would like to refer to Josh. 1:13- "Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, 'The LORD your God gives you rest and will give you this land.'... Isn't the promise of the Promised Land linked to the rest that we now have in Christ... Hebrews 4:1-3- Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH,THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. Wasn't the Promised Land a foreshadow of the rest that we receive through Christ through faith? Also, Hebrews 4:8-11- For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. So, can't this promise actually still be for we believer's today in this sense?? hidden in Christ, Lissa |

You are correct. This is for today's believer. I haven't read the whole thread referred to either. But I do know that the blessings of EX 23:25 are still in effect and available for me to stand on by faith. God has removed sickness and He does bless. His Kid |

Hello hiskid, Welcome to the Forum. As an FYI, you may want to read the entire thread to see where this conversation has been- and its' content- this past week. My question to you is, assuming you understand context, is your boundary also fixed from the Red Sea to the seas of the Philistines? I would assume all of Exodus 23 would be for today's believer? Could you please demonstate how "God has removed sickness"? As it stands, this is merely a blanket statement with no scriptural support:-) Have a blessed Easter weekend, BradK |
