1 | Mitch, How is this promise for you (all) | Ex 23:25 | Morant61 | 146771 | ||
Greetings HisKid! Brad already addressed this point, but I would like to expand upon it some. Here are some of the commands and statements made in Ex. 23. If you are going to claim the 'healing', will you also live by the rest as well? 1) You are to only plow and plant your fields for six years, and then let them rest the seventh. 2) You will work six days and rest on the seventh. (Most of us only work five days!) 3) You will celebrate the three annual Jewish feasts, which also means that you (if you are male) must travel to Jerusalem. 4) God's angel travels before you in a pillar of fire and cloud, everywhere you go. 5) You must go into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites and demolish their idols. 6) As Brad mentioned, your borders will only include the promised land. Now, why would someone claim that the 'promises' of Ex. 23 still apply to us today, but fail to obey these commands or to have these signs as part of their life as well? ;-) We simply can't pick and choose in this manner. There are many promises that apply to us today, but Ex. 23 is not one of them. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

Brother, Perhaps you might want to find out the differnce between a promise, and a law. We have to distinguish between what was a law for that day and time, and what was a promise from God that was applied for all of us. Mitch |

HI Mitch, I'm going to be as polite about this as I can, but brother, do you ever listen? Or, do you just go on making ASSUMPTIONS not based on fact and not hearing a thing anyone is saying. I don't say this lightly, but you come across like, ready, shoot, aim, my friend. You've had numerous individuals point here on this Forum point out errors and oversights in your remarks. Doesn't that say anything to you? It should. Here's what Proverbs 9:9 says: "Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning." As a fellow brother in the Lord, I beseech you to be a more attentive listener. It would benefit you greatly. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
