I never said you will not be tempted I Corinthians 10:13 says There hath no temptation taken you but such as common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able:but with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. In the examples of O.T. saints you listed, also note that they all overcame eventually. Jesus reiterates this thought in John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation:but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. No sir my understanding of scripture is not novel at all it is just that I stay focused on Jesus and not man. There are way too many prosperity preachers teaching that just believe and receive. money cometh to me now nonsence. Yes money cometh if thou worketh, see 2nd Thessalonian 3:10. No cross no crown. Jesus said if any man come after me,let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23.
