1 | Will suicide condem my soul to hell? | Ex 20:13 | humbledbyhisgrace | 208115
sog, I agree with all who have pointed out to you of the error in the teaching "suicide is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost the unpardonable sin." But I'm also very interested in discussing the theology of what you have said beyond that. You say "You may reject God the father and the blood of Jesus can redeem you, you may drop the ball with Christ and the Holy Spirit can save you, but after the Holy Ghost there is nothing left." Could you explain this teaching please? Here is why I'm asking for clarification. You said in part "You may reject God the father and the blood of Jesus can redeem you" This verse comes to mind John 17:3 (NASB) "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." Then you said in part "you may drop the ball with Christ and the Holy Spirit can save you" This verse comes to mind Romans 10:9 (NASB) "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" That's just a quick sample of scripture that comes to mind when I saw your statement. The implications of the statement seems to me to undermine much we are taught in scripture! So if you would could you explain what you mean? Steve |

2 | Will suicide condem my soul to hell? | Ex 20:13 | son of god | 208117
As I have stated in previous post those who loose thier salvation were never saved in the first place. Yes Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth THE LORD JESUS and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved. But here in lies the problem if Jesus is indeed LORD of your life then no circumstance no matter how bleak would be more overwhelming to you than Jesus ability to fix it.See the first commandment I am the Lord thy God and thou shall have no other gods before me.Exodus 20:2-3 and again Jesus reaffirms this in Matthew 22:37-40. If you allow something to weigh you down to the point of wanting to commit suicide then it has become a God to you and you are definately not considering your loved ones that will be burden from your departure. As far as doctrine is concerned brother Steve I not only believe the trinity is one. But I John 5:7 confirms this one God three different functions. Blasphemy of the Holy Ghost is to deny the ultimate power of God. Which brings us back to Romans 10:9 it says THE LORD JESUS.
3 | Will suicide condem my soul to hell? | Ex 20:13 | srbaegon | 208140
Hello s-o-g, You have a novel understanding of Scripture. There are several examples of Old Testament saints who succumbed to their bleak circumstances--Naomi called herself "Bitter"; Job lamented his birth; Baruch had grown weary of his groaning; Elijah wanted to die. True believers do fall prey to their circumstances. It happens. Steve |

4 | Will suicide condem my soul to hell? | Ex 20:13 | son of god | 208171
I never said you will not be tempted I Corinthians 10:13 says There hath no temptation taken you but such as common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able:but with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. In the examples of O.T. saints you listed, also note that they all overcame eventually. Jesus reiterates this thought in John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation:but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. No sir my understanding of scripture is not novel at all it is just that I stay focused on Jesus and not man. There are way too many prosperity preachers teaching that just believe and receive. money cometh to me now nonsence. Yes money cometh if thou worketh, see 2nd Thessalonian 3:10. No cross no crown. Jesus said if any man come after me,let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23. Suicide is a NO NO!!!
