1 | meaning of glory | Ezek 20:6 | BradK | 201654
Hello Azure, The Hebrew word for 'glory' is tsabiy which carries forth the sense of prominence. It's basic meaning is beauty, glory, honor. The ESV reads, "the most glorious of all lands." Of this, the Commentary Critical says, "glory of all lands— that is, Canaan was “the beauty of all lands”; the most lovely and delightful land; “milk and honey” are not the antecedents to “which." I hope this helps, BradK |

2 | meaning of glory | Ezek 20:6 | azurelaw | 201676
Dear Brother Brad, One more question. In Exodus 3:8, 6:8, 12:25, 13:5, the description for the land of Canaan was: - a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey - the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob - the land which the LORD will give you - a land flowing with milk and honey Here in Ezek above, it was added with "which is the glory of all lands". Was it God's purpose to make a contrast to their current shameful situation as being captives in Babylon? Again, thanks for your help in advance. Shalom Azure |
