you, Your third question is "Where does it say here that a sacrifice is needed for God to forgive?" In the OT animal sacrifices were required (Lev 4:35, 5:10) ... Hebrews 9:22. Our Lord Jesus Christ is/was the ultimate and final sacrifice once for all (Heb 7:27). Hebrews 10:14-18 says there is no longer a need for sacrifice once sins are forgiven. Notice the relation of this passage to all 3 questions. What do you think, Searcher |

My point is that someone who accepted there was a new covenant based on Jer 31 would expect that God transforms their heart without someone needing to share with them. The Jer 31 passage just says God forgives but mentions no dependencies with it. I know what the NT teaches but I don't see how someone coming from that perspective would recognize it as the same thing or necessary. | ||||||

God's day to you, As you probably know, taking a verse, verses, even a whole section without knowing the rest of the Bible is dangerous. We also do not know what the original readers/listeners knew/understood. As I study/teach Revelation, there are many unanswered questions ... I see it here as well. Searcher |
