NASB | Jeremiah 31:34 "They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the LORD, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Jeremiah 31:34 "And each man will no longer teach his neighbor and his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me [through personal experience], from the least of them to the greatest," says the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness, and I will no longer remember their sin." [Heb 8:8-12; 10:16, 17] |
Subject: Why evangelize according to Jer 31:34? |
Bible Note: My point is that someone who accepted there was a new covenant based on Jer 31 would expect that God transforms their heart without someone needing to share with them. The Jer 31 passage just says God forgives but mentions no dependencies with it. I know what the NT teaches but I don't see how someone coming from that perspective would recognize it as the same thing or necessary. |
