NASB | Jeremiah 31:34 "They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them," declares the LORD, "for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Jeremiah 31:34 "And each man will no longer teach his neighbor and his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they will all know Me [through personal experience], from the least of them to the greatest," says the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness, and I will no longer remember their sin." [Heb 8:8-12; 10:16, 17] |
Bible Question: If the New Covenant is like Jeremiah described why is there a need for evangelization? This covenant sounds like it is only for Jews. If the law is written on the heart is it the same law? Where does it say here that a sacrifice is needed for God to forgive? |
Bible Answer: you, Your third question is "Where does it say here that a sacrifice is needed for God to forgive?" In the OT animal sacrifices were required (Lev 4:35, 5:10) ... Hebrews 9:22. Our Lord Jesus Christ is/was the ultimate and final sacrifice once for all (Heb 7:27). Hebrews 10:14-18 says there is no longer a need for sacrifice once sins are forgiven. Notice the relation of this passage to all 3 questions. What do you think, Searcher |
