Hello Sandra, Here is the verse: "Jer 20:9- But if I say, "I will not remember Him Or speak anymore in His name," Then in my heart it becomes like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; And I am weary of holding it in, And I cannot endure it."(NASB) Without any context, I cannot tell you what this phrase means! You were in prayer, so was this a supposed response to your prayer? Was this an audible voice?, the voice of God?, or spoken in a tongue? Who said this phrase and how was said? I know this, God is not the author of confusion, and He does not speak to us in mystical phrases or incantations. His Word does speak to us as in Heb. 4:12: "For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart" Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

3 | speaking Gods word openly | Jer 20:9 | sandra626 | 190013
I heard that statement in my spirit and it was the voice of God. I was speaking in tongues when I heard it. There is a desire in my spirit to speak Gods word openly which I do. Call it prophesy if you will but I can never seem to express it and I always feel that the word wants to explode from within me but it has not bee birthed yet. Does this make sense? |

5 | speaking Gods word openly | Jer 20:9 | sandra626 | 190017
I hear what God is saying in my spirit and it wants to come out verbally but I can never seem to get it out. I sense in my spirit something about a person or an event before it happens, but I can't tell it to anyone because they would not understand or accept it. In the past when I have said something regarding what I heard or saw in the spirit no one understood and I could tell by their reaction that they thought I was making it up.

Sandra, 1 Thessalonians 5:20-22 (NASB) 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil. Perhaps there is a lack of faith or perhaps they examined everything that was said by you and found it did not line up with scripture? Who can say but those to whom you spoke? There are many false prophets in the world and it is wise for a brother or sister to give great consideration for anything one claiming the gift of prophesy has to say. Let me say this so there is no misunderstanding. I’m not accusing you of anything :-) but you have given no details (and I’m not asking for any) and all we know is you claim to have prophesied and others did not believe you. Scripture teaches that prophesying is for the edification and building up of the church 1 Corinthians 14:3, 12, 26. If you have the gift and you expect the brothers and sisters to accept what you speak, you will need to ensure you are biblical or without question no one will take you serious. Steve |
