1 | What does God say on blocking life? :) | Jer 1:5 | drapngflwr | 126222
I guess the need to be more specific is at hand. I have read up on the science of conception and come to my own belief that since no one can truly say when life begins in an embryo, (everyone has their varying opinions)then life is continous, from the egg in woman and the sperm in man and through all stages. To disrupt the spirit in the sense of controling it with our own will seems ungodly to me. What I would like to know is, is there a place in the words of our lord where he tells us not to do so. Other then thou shall not kill.....because, is the blocking of life continuing concidered bringing on death?
2 | What does God say on blocking life? :) | Jer 1:5 | IBLONG2GOD | 126223
As is man's understanding on marriage, so too is man's understanding on conception. Man defines marriage with a marriage certificate. God defines marriage with consumation. Man defines conception of life at some point in the womb. God says he knew us BEFORE He formed us in the belly. At any point in the reproductive process, if man invades, it is considered "the blocking of continuing." Perhaps to the extent found in Genesis 38:9-10.
3 | What does God say on blocking life? :) | Jer 1:5 | drapngflwr | 126225
Thank you, I went and read that chapter. I agree completely, my heart tells me that its not ok with god, at the same time we live in different times where the world is quickly getting over-populated and with all the different ways to block life from continuing, such as tubal ligation and vesectomies. I feel wrong in getting a tubal ligation as if god would have me stay as he made me, then again I already have four children. I am very fertile. I will pray some more on this.

drapngflwr, Certainly we're to glorify God in our bodies as 1 Cor. 6:20 tells. However, there does not appear to be any specific prohibition in scripture against vasectomies or tubal ligation, etc. These prevent conception while abortion terminates life as God has defined it. Do you have any specific verses in mind? This seems more a matter of personal choice and within the bounds of freedom God has granted us (Gal. 5:1,13). I would say that if to you it is wrong, then it is. James 4:17 says: "Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin." Paul further instructs us twice in 1 Corinthians that "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything." (1 Cor. 6:12, 10:23) Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Do you have any specific verses in mind?" Deuteronomy 23:1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD. Praise the Lord! That verse is a metaphorical comparison of the pure to impure. You will also notice that crippled individuals (even from birth) are not to enter the tent. The practical application of the Law, here, in Deuteronomy, is to express the absolute purety God demands of his chosen people. This is NOT a passage designed to condemn someone who has chosen to recieve a vasectomy, a tubal ligation, or, more contextually, a person who has been injured in there genitals.
