Bible Question: I guess the need to be more specific is at hand. I have read up on the science of conception and come to my own belief that since no one can truly say when life begins in an embryo, (everyone has their varying opinions)then life is continous, from the egg in woman and the sperm in man and through all stages. To disrupt the spirit in the sense of controling it with our own will seems ungodly to me. What I would like to know is, is there a place in the words of our lord where he tells us not to do so. Other then thou shall not kill.....because, is the blocking of life continuing concidered bringing on death? |
Bible Answer: As is man's understanding on marriage, so too is man's understanding on conception. Man defines marriage with a marriage certificate. God defines marriage with consumation. Man defines conception of life at some point in the womb. God says he knew us BEFORE He formed us in the belly. At any point in the reproductive process, if man invades, it is considered "the blocking of continuing." Perhaps to the extent found in Genesis 38:9-10. |
