DBR, If I may interject here:-) You still have not addressed the question! What SCRIPTURE tells us that children will be given a second chance? Please provide the EXACT passage and verse. You are continually side-stepping the issue, my friend and wrenching verses out of context to try and make your point:-( Romans 12:1 has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the question at hand. Read the CONTEXT! Note: a text without a context is merely a pretext! You state "This is what I feel the scriptures say to me and that it is a logical conclusion to draw, you don’t not have to follow it if that is what you feel." While I can't argue with your "feelings", that is not at all a sound or rational basis for determining Biblical Truth! Opinion or feelings have no place on this Forum and won't gain you any serious audience. May I suggest you respond as requested or drop it. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

I think Hank (12-5-01) has made a very sound comment on this point:- I can't agree that a child under the age of three knows that he has done wrong. He may know that a certain action of his brings a frown or a no-no from his mother without really understanding why. But I doubt he has any real sense of wrongdoing, much less any conviction of sin. I further withhold judgment that any child of "3 or so" could be held strictly accountable for his deeds. My wife and I had 3 children and they were, by any measure, the very brightest on our block, of course! But I could not see in any of them at the tender age of 3 or 4 any sign that they had reached the level of cognizance at which they had any genuine concept or conviction of sin or of their need for a Savior. --Hank Hope ypu do not mind me cutting and pasteing you comment Hank as I think it has much to say of Import here? Thank You both Love DBR |

DBR, clearly I've no objection to being quoted, but my post of December 2001 didn't teach that children will be given "a second chance"; the Bible doesn't teach that and I have never taught it. Infants and tiny children are not accountable for sin; this view has been generally held by orthodoxy for centuries. There is a significant difference between unaccountability and being given a second chance. No where in Scripture is there the slightest indication of anyone of any age having been given a second chance at eternal life beyond the grave. Thus, my quotation that you have offered in answer to BradK's questions to you does not and was not intended to answer them; Brad wants biblical proof that babies are given a second chance, and my post of 2001 simply does not address that matter at all. My signature closing to you, as always, are the questions that now I ask for the fifth time: Are you JW? Do you affirm or deny the full deity of the Lord Jesus Christ? --Hank | ||||||
