Hi imani5, I come out of the WOF group (I was in it many many years ago) and they love to use Heb. 11:1 and rephrase it as - 'calling those things that are not as though they were' - thus inspiring speaking words of faith and not words of doubt. They are not completely wrong (in some areas of their teachings) but there is enough error in their doctrine to be very dangerous. It's best to stick to what the Bible actually says. :-) I hope this helps. Cheri |

Thank you for the testimony, Cheri. Your final word of advice there reminded me of something a leader in the Southern Baptist Convention of over a century ago said: "We accept the Scriptures as an all-sufficient and infallible rule of faith and practice, and insist upon the absolute inerrancy and sole authority of the Word of God. We recognize at this point no room for division, either of practice or belief, or even sentiment. More and more we must come to feel as the deepest and mightiest power of our conviction that a 'thus saith the Lord' is the end of all controversy." --James M. Frost |

Hi Doc, I've had to do some major dumping out over the last year - happy to say it took me a few minutes to remember to make that connection :-). And I am learning that the Word does indeed interpret itself most of the time. Jesus Reigns! Cheri |
