1 | no smoking but alcohol and drugs ok? | Is 44:1 | Sonshine21 | 114174
So, out of curiosity, how can you condemn smoking (whether in excess or not) but condone the consumption of alcohol and "any drug" as long as it's in moderation? Sounds bogus to me.
2 | no smoking but alcohol and drugs ok? | Is 44:1 | Bojo2 | 114183
As long as your action doesn't make you wander from Jesus and the Gospel, it's all okay. By that I mean, if getting drunk causes you to sin, it's not okay. I've never seen a person lose focus of Jesus because of cigarettes. I have seen many people wander because of alcohol and other mind altering drugs. With that being said - Jesus not only drank wine, but made it. I think it all comes down to, are you gloryifing Christ with these actions? Does it bring you closer to Christ? If it does then smoke, drink, snort, shoot up! If it makes you lose your values, you should not be doing it. |

Bojo2: The thought occurred to me to take steps to restrict this post of yours so that it would not be seen on the home page of this Forum, but I want it to stand so that all users of this StudyBibleForum can see for themselves how unbiblical and outrageous it is. How can anyone with the sense of a goose envisage any possible way in which to "smoke, drink, snort, shoot up" can bring him closer to Christ? I recommend the study of this post as a sterling example of what a post on this Bible forum should not be. --Hank

Bojo2, Where on earth would you get such an ungodly idea that drug use/abuse are a way to get closer to Christ? They're not, and speaking as one who has been there and done that, I would condemn such a cavalier attitude. Scripture in both 1 Cor. 6:19-20, and Rom. 14:13 would strongly disprove such behavior. Smoking pot or snorting coke ARE NOT God-glorifying in any way, shape, or form. Get real! Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
