Hi EdB, I have noticed in the past that you like to take things as they are stated and hesitate to spiritualize things very much. I am much the same way. However, I spent some time this week with the Song of Solomon and found that after capitalizing the Beloved pronouns and thinking of the Shulamite as His bride, the book could be studied much as I have the other books of the Bible. I noted certain patterns that I have seen before and could see comparisons from chapter to chapter. I could make comparisons of Song of Solomon with other books as well. And the pronouns that I capitalized totaled a number divisible by three. For instance, I could compare Song 2:6, "Let His left hand be under my head And His/ right hand embrace me." -- Song 8:3, "Let His left hand be under my head, And His/ right hand embrace me." By spiritualizing the pronouns (capitalizing them), I could compare the idea of "knocking on the door". Song 5:5, "I arose to open to my (Beloved); And my hands dripped with myrrh, And my fingers with liquid myrrh, On the handles of the bolt. 6 I opened to my Beloved, But my Beloved had turned away and had gone! My heart went out [to Him] as He spoke." Revelation 3:20, "Behold, (I) stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me." 1) "What kind of Beloved is your Beloved, O most beautiful among women?" I believe that Revelation 19:11 could say that He "is called Faithful and True." It is good to at least consider these things. From the heart, Ray |

Ray I appreciate you and your capitalization. You may be one to something as it seems to work out, but I'm afraid we may never know for sure this side of Heaven. Be Blessed adn be a blessing my cherished friend. EdB |
