2 | beloved or | Song 5:9 | Ray | 112531
Song of Solomon 5:9 My question for this verse involves capitalization and also the number of pronouns for the verse. Here is my interpretation for what it is worth, and I would like to get comments. Song of Solomon 5:9, "What kind of Beloved is your Beloved, O most beautiful of women? What is your Beloved more than another beloved, That thus you adjure us?" From the heart, Ray |

3 | beloved or | Song 5:9 | EdB | 112546
Ray As one that never developed a real appreciation for poetry, I also fail to see what many see in the Song of Solomon as sonnet of love dealing with Christ. I view it literally as a drama in song (musical) about the love of Solomon and his Shulamite bride. Therefore I would not capitalize any of the pronouns. Rendering the passage as, “O most beautiful among women? What kind of beloved is your beloved, That thus you adjure us?" EdB |
